A game of man with elements... Maiolica finally!
The writer of these lines is not a ceramics scholar, but was born and raised among clay, glazes, and colors, and has never lost the childlike curiosity that drives knowledge.
Now that he has dedicated a large part of his life to creating majolica works, and that this allows him to live with dignity, he thought it would be helpful for those who wish to approach this art to understand the raw materials, techniques, and historical, cultural, and functional reasons that lead to "creation."
Naturally, he will speak to you from a very partial and limited perspective on all the aspects listed. He will describe man's play with the elements, speaking of air, earth, water, and fire, and how these elements, through the intervention of the artist/artisan, are inextricably linked, giving rise to "creation."
